Giving Thanks for Books

While it’s good to practice thankfulness all the time, every day, during the month of November many people think of gratitude in a special way. It’s great to take time to focus on specific things you’re thankful for.

I have a lot to be thankful for. And in particular I’m very thankful for books.

Thankful for Books

I love everything about books – how they feel in my hands, how they look on a shelf. I love ebooks, too – the ease of reading, the ease of storing so many books that would overflow a shelf in physical space.

Thankful for Stories

I love words – how arrangements of 26 letters can convey meaning, beauty, emotion, facts, ideas. I love how humans, flawed though we may be, have the creative power to create entire worlds with words, entertain or inspire others, and share the fullness of human experience.

Thankful for Writing

I’m very thankful to live in a place and time where I can access words, books, stories – as much and as often as I want. I’m very thankful that I have both the ability and the opportunity to write books of my own. I love crafting worlds and telling stories with words.

Let’s all be thankful for the good things in life – and books!
