Well, here it is – my first blog post of 2018! Whee!

I’ve been a disciplined blogger for years – I’ve posted at least one blog post a week for several years now, missing only a few weeks here and there in all that time. However, I’ve never been a particularly organized blogger; that is, I’ve never had blog topics and outlines planned out for weeks or months in advance. I count myself productive if I have even one post written ahead of time.

And in all my new year’s resolutions and goals, becoming an organized blogger is not one of them. Sorry, but there it is. Perhaps that makes me less of a professional writer; but I have enough trouble outlining and keeping up with the books I’m writing.

Anyway, that being said, I’m not about to quit blogging. I still intend on posting at least once a week every week this year, and I do have a few ideas and topics that I plan to cover. For example, I intend to offer more tips and analysis of how to write convincing fantasy and science-fiction. World building is one of my favorite parts of writing, and with each story I write, I learn more about how to do it. I’ll be sharing details about my ongoing series of dieselpunk stories, and the world-building techniques that go into this unique sort of historical fantasy.

But I’d also like to know what you as my readers are interested in. Do you want some nitty-gritty of writing posts about proper punctuation and grammar? Music reviews and more music-and-writing related posts? Random geekery? Something else?
